Application

The flow and energy computer for gases CRP – 05 – G is dedicated for systems measurement and in technological installations where gas is the medium. CRP – 05 – G can work like autonomous measurement system or can be included in bigger monitoring system with data multi-access.

This device was constructed not only as standard measurement and registering unit but also to enable precise control of every thermodynamics parameters of gas stream installation. When the type of gas is chosen during programming, it also calculates and projects thermodynamical parameters of gas for actual operating point. The following table presents types of gases and temperature operating range for the device. It is also possible to prepare the procedures for other gases.

CRP – 05 – G is designed for calculate:

  • gas parameters according to its temperature and pressure measurements
  • mass and volume flow in normal conditions based on temperature and pressure measurements and difference of pressures measurements or volume flow measurements
  • hourly, shiftly, daily and monthly calculated balances of mass and volume

Measurements’ and calculations’ precision

CRP - 05 - G realizes analog measurements using 24-bits A/C converter of the sigma-delta type. Software provides calibration of current and resistant measurement inputs according to the temperature. This enables proper performance of the unit in a wide range of temperatures. Software adjusts A/C converters during operation and eliminates an offset.


Digital reading of pressure difference or flow measurements using Hart protocol

CRP – 05 - G enables digital communication with one or more converters, connected in parallel, according to Hart protocol (MULTIDROP). Digital reading increases significantly precision of mass flow’s calculates. Measurements are independent on analog processing errors thus the performance of the unit is reliable. Several converters can be connected to measurement inputs, and each can be addressed independly.


Data access

An internal data base is created in CRP – 05 flash memory, where every calculated values (balances, average and current values and summators) with its time markers are stocked. Access to this information and to current computer reading is possible from device’s desktop or on-line, by digital interface.

User has access to following information:

  • gas volume flow or pressures' difference
  • stream of gas mass
  • volume's stream in normal conditions
  • specific gas density
  • stickiness
  • isentropic expression
  • Reynolds’s number
  • pipeline’s and gorget’s diameter in actual temperature
  • correction for round of gorget’s edge
  • correction for roughness of pipeline
  • mass summators
  • energy summators

Communication

CRP - 05 - G is equipped in serial interface RS 232 or RS 485 (MODBUS RTU) which enables transmission of data to supervision system.
