Internet data visualization

We are proud to introduce e-FlowNet portal - network portal of information. It is a new generation of developed by Hydro-Eco-Invest measurement data visualization software e-FlowNet. Enriched by new modules of charts and reports, in compliance with distributed system philosophy, our software allows operator to control monitored process from any place using Internet or Intranet. No dedicated client software is needed – just a browser with Java applet support (traditional visualization client, working as desktop application is also available). Our system offers also mobile client, which enables measurement data access through mobile phones or PDA devices.
Because only standard protocols (http and https based) are used, web visualization data is friendly to both firewall and proxy servers. System can also use secure connections (https) and access passwords – what makes unauthorized access virtually impossible.

e-FlowNet portal main use is building distributed media monitoring systems (for electrical energy, heat energy, water, technical gazes, waste water, fuels, oils etc.) for all plants and objects where industrial installations work. System monitors and gives access to actual values of flow, energy, power or technological parameters. Additionally, system calculates various balances (for hour, day, month, year, ect), exceeds of ordered values and alarm states.
Another important feature is possibility to visualize not only data gathered in e-FlowNet system (i. e. coming from devices directly connected to the server via e.g. Modbus or M-bus protocols), but also from OPC DA 2.0 enabled servers. Latest version of the system enables also access to data according to DDE standard or directly form SQL data base. e-FlowNet portal can also perform as an independent overlay for existing data acquisition system because of possible communication with data bases working with ODBC or JDBC standards. The system can cooperate with many popular archiving programs.
One of the newest features is communication with mobile clients which enables data visualization on mobile devices like mobile phones or PDA devices.

Because of highly distributed architecture it is possible to present data coming from many geographically distributed servers connected to Internet. Together with various methods of data acquisition, it makes e-FlowNet portal an ideal tool for building distributed monitoring system. In compliance with many kinds of visualization clients, the system gives the user progressive information portal of real time.

Apart from standard data visualization on synoptic screens, the system enables graphical presentation of data on charts. The existing chart module was widely expanded. Actually it enables:

• actual data presentation in real time
• historical data presentation
• placing prepared charts in synoptic screens
• simultaneous presentation of many charts
• presentation of analog and digital data
• presentation of balances

Optionally, latest version of the e-FlowNet portal system enables communication with mobile clients. Besides already offered SMS information system, actually system is equipped with a separate module e-FlowNet mobile, which provides data access and full visualization with mobile devices like mobile phones or PDA. The user has full access to all the data gathered in the system, like in the e-FlowNet portal. Additional advantage is an increase of the operator mobility, who can make and realize his decisions remote, not only from his operating post. It is especially important when immediate control of devices is necessary (service, damage).
Because of optimal use of connection (protocol optimization for low-bandwidth connections), e-FlowNet mobile is a perfect expansion of the system, while enabling quick operator reactions.

The reporting module, which enables presentation of measurement data as various reports, is another new feature of e-FlowNet portal. The system can generate reports presenting:

• actual data
• historical data
• balances

To better fit the clients needs, the system enables:

• choice of the report time range
• preparation of any comparison or balance (i. e. for hour, shift, day, month, year etc.)
• automatic preparation of the reports in the fixed moment of time and in the defined period of time

The mentioned features of the e-FlowNet portal system enables saving a lot of time necessary for reports preparation and assure continuous access to any statistic information, balance or all other comparisons. The reporting module can be also configured to automatically prepare desired report in defined moment of time. For example: every day at midnight system prepares report containing comparison of data from the past day.

The system prepares reports in following formats:

• pdf - ready to print
• xls - MS Excel format, which enables use of data in calculation sheets
• html - to present data in a web browser window
• xml, csv - easy data export to another systems or extern data bases. It is especially important while integrating with extern data acquisition systems, when there is more then one data recipient (i. e. in settling systems for media transport)

Reporting module greatly enlarge capabilities of the e-FlowNet portal system as an ideal tool for media monitoring and supervision. Some of the module's possible uses are:

• comparison of flow balances for a day
• report of electrical energy usage during the shift time, including separation for each recipient

The latest version of the e-FlowNet portal system enables optionally the control of the devices directly from the portal. Authorized users can control work states of the devices (change of the binary signals) and also set analog values. Together with security mechanisms including secure (encrypted) connections, and access passwords, the system enables fast operators reactions, independent of their position, what is very important in damage situations.

Except above-mentioned, e-FlowNet portal has the following features:

• protocol optimization for low-bandwidth connections (like GPRS)
• secure data transmission:
• connection encryption based on https protocol used e.g. in e-commerce
• access protection based on system of passwords and access levels (authentication and authorization)
• modular architecture allowing easy modification of system look-and-feel and features for individual customer needs
• platform-independent work (system performs properly in web browsers of Windows as well as in the Linux ones)

e-FlowNet portal software bundle comes with:

• web server (it is possible to integrate with standard Apache or IIS servers)
• e-FlowNet server allowing acquisition and registration of data from OPC, DDE, JDBC and ODBC systems or directly form the devices connected to the server e-FlowNet via Modbus or M-bus protocols. Concerning the clients needs, server e-FlowNet can acquire data according to other standards
• e-mail server (optional)
• SMS server (optional)
• user friendly utilities for visualization design (e-FlowNet assistant)
• documentation

Based on customer demand, in near future e-FlowNet software will gain many new interesting features:
